Music

Welcome to the music section of my website!

I am a saxophonist and scientist, and I have always been fascinated by the intersection of technology and music. To explore this intersection, I created a custom music generation program that allows me to improvise and compose in real-time. With this program, I aimed to harness the power of randomness to create structured and cohesive music, using underlying random notes as the foundation for my compositions. Through the use of adjustable parameters, the program allows me to compose and improvise in real-time, using electronically generated sound zones as a backdrop for my saxophone playing.

Using this program, I am able to combine my love of jazz and electronics to create unique and dynamic musical experiences. You can check out my youtube channel to hear more of my music.

Here is a full set of music I made with the program that was created in a single take:

The program can also simulate jazz standards, here is a playlist of tunes I made with the program:

Past

As a musician, I studied under the likes of Geri Allen, Andrew Bishop, and Donald Walden at the University of Michigan’s Jazz department. I am always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of music and technology, and I hope you enjoy exploring my creations.
